What the Outpost Does

The Outpost (the Sanctuary Outpost) is the only thing that persists between expeditions. Successful runs feed it: hauled loot becomes gold, gold becomes interactive furniture, stat upgrades, rescued survivors and new constructs, and a stronger Outpost is what unlocks deeper, richer runs. The loop is the game: descend, extract, rebuild, descend deeper.

The 1.0 launch expands it with a second Outpost floor, new NPCs, and the Enchantment & Repair Machine.

  1. Cure Rot first. Fire-cure in the surface scorch before touching any room — symptomatic vessels spread infection and can destroy a random room via the elevator
  2. Bank and convert. Scrap to the workshop, artifacts to the gacha pipeline, gold unspent is gold unearned
  3. Talk to Murch. Rapport visits pay bonus artifact coins
  4. Repair and clean. Biggy's maintenance tasks feed room efficiency and morale
  5. Spend with intent. Functional rooms before cosmetics — always
  6. Read the elevator panel before descending again

Layout Safety

Keep clear paths between the workshop, ball machine, unlocker and elevator, and don't block Murch's interaction radius with large constructs. Heavy decorating is a luxury — Rot incidents can scatter your furniture across the floor, so keep spare scrap for rebuilds.
